Which bit of your nan's front room would you have back in your house tomorrow?

The gas fire with fake coals
Nothing beat sitting right in front of it with your legs going blotchy. Toast on your knees optional.

The glass china cabinet
Full of wedding china, souvenir thimbles and a Charles and Di mug. Dusted weekly, used never.

The drinks trolley
Wheeled out at Christmas and birthdays with glasses that didn't match. Somebody always got the snowball.

The swirly patterned carpet
Orange and brown swirls that made you dizzy if you stared too long. Brilliantly practical, mind you.

The flying ducks on the wall
Plaster ducks climbing up the chimney breast above the fire. Everyone's nan had a set.
