From vinyl crackle to algorithm-fed playlists, the way we consume music has never been more divided. The format wars are back β and this time it's personal.
Put the items in your preferred order.

Vinyl
There's something undeniably ritualistic about dropping the needle on a record, and the sound quality debate will never die. But are you genuinely moved by the warmth, or just showing off your shelving unit?

CD
Criminally dismissed as uncool, the humble CD actually delivers uncompressed, lossless audio that streaming can't touch at standard settings. The 90s called β and honestly, they had a point.

Streaming
Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal β you've got every song ever made at your fingertips, yet somehow you listen to the same 40 tracks on repeat. Convenient? Absolutely. Soulless? Jury's out.

Cassette Tape
Cassettes are genuinely outselling CDs again in the UK and the indie scene is absolutely obsessed. Whether that's a charming nostalgia trip or peak hipster nonsense is entirely up to you.

Live Radio
BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, your local station β there's still something irreplaceable about discovering a track you didn't choose, at a moment you didn't plan. The algorithm can't replicate a human DJ having a moment.
